Site-specific performances
Fly with the sand,
rumble with the river;
wake the demons in the attic.
Duet for a dancer and a place.
A performance made specifically for each site and place I'm invited to.
What is its character? What kind of stories and elements does it have? How do people join it?
I get to know the place, learn about it and explore it, and then create a performance just for it. Improvisation is always included, and so includes the living place: birds flying by, weather changes, music from the neighbors, all join the dance.
I specialize in nature sites, and the meeting between humans and earth. Even when I dance in man-made places, something of that spirit will influence the work.
